After a very many long months, the Name of Russia contest is over. Around 5 million votes were cast in the contest to choose Russia’s greatest historical figure. The top 12 had been narrowed down during a first round of voting. The resuts:
1. Alexander Nesvky  524,575 votes
2. Pyotr Stolypin  523,766 votes
3. Josef Stalin  519,071 votes
4. Alexander Pushkin  516,608 votes
5. Peter the Great  448,857 votes
6. Vladimir Lenin  424,283 votes
7. Fyodor Dostoevsky  348,634 votes
8. Alexander Suvorov  329,028 votes
9. Dmitry Mendeleev  306,520 votes
10. Ivan the Terrible  270,570 votes
11. Catherine the Great  152,306 votes
12. Alexander II 134,622 votes
